This Week’s TMR: Preparing, Executing and Responding in a Pandemic

Syracuse, N.Y. – Ann Rooney, deputy county executive for human services for Onondaga County, and Daniel Wears, commissioner of emergency management for Onondaga County, will speak on the topic, “Preparing, Executing and Responding in a Pandemic” from a county-level perspective during a Zoom public forum from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday hosted by Syracuse University’s Thursday Morning Roundtable.

Ms. Rooney serves as Deputy County Executive for Human Services for Onondaga County where she is responsible for directing, advising, and coordinating policy for managers and employees in the following departments: Adult and Long Term Care Services, Children and Family Services, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Emergency Communications (911), Emergency Management, Health, Probation, Social Services: Economic Security and Veterans Services. Mr. Wears serves as Onondaga County’s Commissioner of Emergency Management, where he heads the Department of emergency management and is responsible for the county’s emergency management program as well as overseeing the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Bureaus. Both Rooney and Wears are alumni of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Now in its 56th season, Thursday Morning Roundtable features speakers who discuss current topics relevant to Central New York and beyond. Following the forum, attendees can use the chat function to ask questions and a moderator will conduct the Q&A session.
