A Tribute to Barack Obama

Our tribute to President Obama has received lots of great reaction and requests to re-air it. So, if you haven't had a chance to see the tribute - here are the dates we're planning to re-air it - each date will be at 9:30 p.m. on Ch. 98 - this Wed. (Dec.3) - then again in the beginning of January leading up to the Inauguration -Jan. 7, 14 and 21.

For most of us, if not all, the excitement is still in the air for the historic election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States and the First African American President! Our tribute show not only pays tribute to President Obama, but also pays homage to our ancestors and the journey that we as a people have been on and continue to travel here in America.

Our special guests include The Kuumba Project Dancers performing "Amazing Grace" choreographed by Cheryl Wilkins-Mitchell (for Brantley Carrol's The Whipping Post) - we will also feature performances by One Black Voice and SU students Morgen Whiteman and Jessica Ann Mitchell.

We also have commentary by Power 106.9's Dr. Rick Wright & local reaction from the night of the election from People's A.M.E. Zion Church and The Obama Democratic) Election Watch Party (in Liverpool).

And last, but not least we will revisit some highlight footage from both Dr.King and President Obama as we take in this historic moment!
