Savior’s Sunday today at Spirit of Jubilee Park

Musical groups, Charles Cannon and the Bells of Harmony, The SUNY Cortland (International) Gospel Choir and Kyla Clark will perform at the final Southwest Showcase Sunday of the season. This event dubbed Savior’s Sunday will start at 4:00 p.m. today September 23, 2007. Sponsored by Destiny USA and Assemblywoman Joan Christensen, this event invites all southwest side residents and non-residents both present and former to the Spirit of Jubilee Park on the 100 block of South Ave. to enjoy the festivities.
Starting at 4:00 pm the stage will open with community announcements and presentations from sponsors and community leaders. Immediately following at 4:15pm The SUNY Cortland Gospel Choir will take the stage. At 5:30pm The Bells of Harmony will take the stage to close the series with a 90 minute set of good old fashioned down home quartet gospel.
There will be plenty of food on hand too and activities for the kids. The Spirit of Jubilee Park features a new kids area which was donated in part by the “40 below” group which will be enhanced by moonwalks for the kids to jump around in.
As a special gesture to pay tribute to a successful season and to those who have gone on before us we will release 100 white balloons.
The series which is produced by Jubilee Homes of Syracuse Inc. is also supported this week by Genesis Funeral Chapel.
